Saint Agnes ist eine britische Garage-Rock-Band[2] aus London mit der Sängerin Kitty Arabella Austen (Lola Colt) und dem Gitarristen Jon Tufnell (The Lost Souls Club). Die Band nannte sich nach der Märtyrin, geweihten Jungfrau und Heiligen Agnes von Rom, die im Jahr 304 im Alter von 13 Jahren nach dem Gesetz erst vergewaltigt und dann hingerichtet werden sollte.[3] Letzendlich wurde sie der Überlieferung nach enthauptet.

Bandgeschichte

Die Band wurde 2014 gegründet.[2] Saint Agnes veröffentlichte zunächst die Singles "Old Bone Rattle" (2014) und "A Beautiful Day For Murder" (2015).[3] Ebenfalls 2015 wurde die EP "Live Under London" über Energy Snake Records veröffentlicht. Am 17. Juni 2016 folgte die Single "Sister Electric" bei Death or Glory Gang Records[4] und Ende 2016 die 7" "Merry Mother of God Go Round". 2017 tourten sie erstmals ausserhalb des Vereinigten Königreichs durch Europa.[2] Im März und April 2018 war Saint Agnes auf Tour durch England und Wales.[5] Am 18. Mai 2018 folgte die Single "The Witching Hour".[1] Am 24. Juli 2018 trat Saint Agnes beim Blue Balls Festival in Luzern in der Schweiz auf. Es folgten die Alben "Welcome To Silvertown" (2019), "Vampire" (2021) und "Bloodsuckers" (2023).
