Getting Into Knives ist das neunzehnte Studioalbum der US-amerikanischen Band The Mountain Goats. Es wurde am 23. Oktober 2020 über Merge Records veröffentlicht. Produziert wurde das Album von Matt Ross-Spang, der auch schon an dem Album "In League with Dragons" (2019) beteiligt war. Die Aufnahmen erfolgten im März 2020 innerhalb einer Woche bei Sam Phillips Recording in Memphis im US-Bundesstaat Tennessee. Vorab wurden die drei Singles "As Many Candles as Possible", "Get Famous" und "Picture of My Dress" veröffentlicht. Der US-amerikanische Organist Charles Hodges (Al Green, The Hodges Brothers, Hi Rhythm) war an dem Titel "As Many Candles As Possible" beteiligt.[4] Das Album erreichte Platz 162 in den US Billboard 200[5] und Platz 27 in den US Top Rock Albums (Billboard).[6]
