Uncommunity (auch Unkommuniti und Un-Kommuniti) war eine englische Industrial-/Noise-Band. Sie wurde 1983 gegründet und war bis 1987 aktiv.[1]
Bandgeschichte
Die Band wurde im Frühling 1983 gegründet. Sie war ein frühes Projekt von Tim Gane (Timothy John Gane), der 1964 in England geboren wurde. Die Band veröffentlichte zwischen 1983 und 1987 mehrere Alben auf Tape, vorwiegend über ihr eigenes Tape-Label Black Dwarf Recordings (auch Wreckordings genannt).[1] Das kanadische Label Freedom In A Vacuum hat einige davon in Kanada veröffentlicht. Mit der 7" "Brutality Of Fact" veröffentlichte die Band 1984 das einzige Mal auf Vinyl.[2] Zur Kompilation "Faith Will Never Die..." (1983) von Black Dwarf hat Uncommunity fünf Titel beigetragen.[3] Das Tape "Live Bingo / Soundtracks" wurde Live am 13. März 1984 in der Anarchist Bingo Hall aufgenommen. Mit der US-amerikanischen Band Controlled Bleeding veröffentlichte Uncommunity 1986 den Split "Across The Stagnant Pond".
Ende der 1980er war Tim Gane in der 1985 gegründeten Band McCarthy aktiv.[1] Im Jahr 1990 gründete er die Band Stereolab. Er war weiterhin auch in Alternative 3, Blips, Cavern Of Anti-Matter, Turn On und Uilab aktiv.
Im Jahr 2013 wurde von dem deutschen Label Vinyl-on-demand die 4-LP-Kompilation "Black Dwarf Wreckordings '83-'85" veröffentlicht.
