Man on the Rocks ist das 25. Studioalbum des britischen Musikers Mike Oldfield. Sein Erscheinen war für den 27. Januar 2014 bei Virgin EMI Records angekündigt[4], im Vereinigten Königreich wurde das Album jedoch erst am 3. März 2014 veröffentlicht.

Das Album wurde von Stephen Lipson zusammen mit Oldfield produziert. Die Backing Tracks wurden im Studio D der Village Studios in Los Angeles aufgenommen. Oldfield war per Skype zugeschaltet. Weitere Parts nahm Oldfield in seinem Studio auf den Bahamas auf.[5] Ursprünglich sollte das Album nur Rock heißen. Oldfield arbeitete mit Musikern wie Bassist Leland Sklar (Phil Collins, Crosby, Stills & Nash, James Taylor) und Schlagzeuger John Robinson (Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Daft Punk) zusammen.

Charts

Das Album konnte sich in mehreren euroäischen Charts platzieren. In Deutschland erreichte es Platz 3, in der Schweiz Platz 9 und in Österreich Platz 10.[6]
