Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell, manchmal auch The Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell, ist ein britisches Hard-Rock- und Stoner-Trio aus Hastings, East Sussex. Die Band benannte sich nach dem englischen Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell (1650–1707), der u. a. im Sommer 1707 die britische Flotte bei der Belagerung von Toulon anführte.

Geschichte

Die Band, die einen Mix aus Retro-(Hard-)Rock oder auch Classic Rock mit Stoner-Rock- und Psychedelic-Einflüssen wie etwa Hawkwind[1] spielt, wurde 2008 gegründet und unterschrieb bei Rise Above Records, dem Label von Lee Dorrian (Cathedral) und brachte im Sommer 2012 ihr Debütalbum Don't Hear It.... Fear It! heraus. Bill Darlington ist am Schlagzeug zu hören, Louis Comfort-Wiggett am Bass und Johnny Gorilla übernahm Gitarre und Gesang.[2] 2014 folgte Check 'Em Before You Wreck 'Em. Die Band tourte bereits mit Orange Goblin oder auch Graveyard. Im Oktober 2016 folgte das Album Keep It Greasy!.
